Horton Plains National Park

The Horton Plains National Park is a nature reserve that is found in the highlands of Sri Lanka. It is a plateau at an altitude of 2100 – 2300 meters, and is rich in biodiversity. Designated a National Park in 1988, the Horton Plains vegetation is mainly grasslands and montane forest. The plains are home to large herds of Sambur Deer, and many species of birds, with seldom sighting of Leopard. The beautiful Baker’s Water fall is another big attraction along with the sheer precipice called the ‘World’s End.’
