Yala National Park

The second largest national park in the country, the Yala National Park is easily the most visited and the best for the sighting of a variety of wildlife, especially elephants and leopard in addition to monkeys, sloth bear, water buffalo, wild boar, peacock, spotted deer and more. The birdlife too is extensive with 130 species being recorded. This includes many types of eagles, pelicans, spoonbills, flamingos, storks and etc. This designated wildlife sanctuary is a much loved nature reserve visited by both locals and tourist visitors right through the year.
